What is The REAL Cost To Create Videos?

Ever wonder what the cost to create videos is?

Last week I had someone comment on a facebook post that creating videos is just SO expensive that it's preventing them from making any so I wanted to do a quick rundown on what it actually costs to make videos.

Music Costs

First, you will need music/sounds. I recommend Envato Elements for a couple of reasons.
1. it's only $200 per year.
2. It comes with SO much more than music. It comes with sound effects, graphics, stock photos, stock videos, and more! It's a great bang for your buck!

Envato elements - 16.50/month - $198/year

Editing Costs

You will also need to be able to edit your videos obviously. Luckily you can get a free editing software so you don't have to pay monthly subscriptions. This whole video was shot and edited on my iphone. The music was even downloaded on the phone and added to capcut.

Free Editing software - Cell Phone, capcut. Laptop Premiere Rush. Davinci Resolve

Now if you want to go ahead and upgrade to a pro level editor then I suggest Premeire Pro. It's what I use and I enjoy it. You can also check out davinci Resolve, it has a free plan but a 1 time payment unlocks all of it's capabilities. If you are on a mac then you can check out final cut pro, it's also a 1 time payment.

Paid editing software - Premiere Pro $36/month

If you don't have light and want a ring light like mine then it will run you around $130. However, you don't need to get a light that nice if you can't swing it. Alternatively, you can use an open window or a get creative with some lights from your local hardware store.

Let me tell you a story

After podcast movement in orlando ended we were out by the pool talking to some entrepreneurs about making videos and one of the guys walks up holding 3 drinks that he got from the bar for himself.

I asked why he got three and he told me that the line was so long that he bought them for convenience.

I asked him how much the drinks were because we were at a pretty nice resort hotel so I knew they weren't cheap. He said each one was $16.

I kinda chuckled and told him that he just impulsively spent more money than premiere pro would cost for a month while also complaining about what premiere pro would cost.

The problem isn't the price of video production. The problem is that he didn't realize how much video can change his business.

Now let's talk about why the cost of making videos is irrelevant.

87% of marketers say video has helped them increase traffic.
86% of marketers say video has helped them generate leads.
81% of marketers say video has helped them directly increase sales.
87% of marketers say video has helped them general good ROI.

That's why I do what I do here at Video Creation School. I want to teach you how you can make videos as simply as possible so you can take advantage of the best marketing tool in your business tool chest without breaking the bank by paying me $8000+ to come shoot your videos for you.

Really the question isn't"what is it going to cost me to make videos"the question is"What is it going to cost me to NOT make videos?"
