Check out this quick video on how to remove unwanted stuff from your video. Follow along on tik tok to connect more!
To my entrepreneur friends. I wanted to put out this video to let you know that if you have footage that you think is ruined, it may not be. Now you may not want to go through the process learning how to fix it but know that you can get your footage fixed!
If you have been shooting video for any length of time I'm sure you've had something in your frame that you wish you could remove. In the example above, we had a campfire going beside us and the ashes that were falling fell on the lens and I didn't realize it while shooting.
I set out to figure out a way to clean up the shot because it was such a great shot I didn't want to lose!
Good news! It's not really that difficult!
What You'll Need:
Premiere Pro
Adobe After Effects
(side note) You could do this in just after effects but in this tutorial I used both.
Starting in Premiere Pro have your clip ready to on your timeline.
Right click on your clip in the timeline and select "Edit in After Effects"
When the clip opens select the pen tool in the top bar.
Draw an outline around whatever you are wanting to remove.
Select the dropdown arrow under the clip.
dropdown the masks.
For each outline mask change it from "add" to "subtract"
once you've selected everything you need to remove open the "Content Aware Fill" tool. (if you don't see it, click "window" in the top bar and click "content aware".
You may have to play around with the settings for your specific clip. For my clip I went with alpha expansion of 4, Fill method:object, Lighting Correction:strong, Range: work area.
Once you have your options selected click "Generate Fill Area" and let After Effects do its thing!
Whenever After Effects finishes save your after effects project and whenever it finishes saving you can go back over to premiere pro and it will have automatically updated!
I travel around the country shooting videos for entrepreneurs and conferences to help them sell more stuff. I am taking that knowledge and passing it on to you so you can sell more!
